Day 20 – Effortless Weight Loss and A Raw Snack Recipe To-Go

12 Feb

Eating raw food does incredible things for your body. One thing that many people are interested in is weight loss. Extra weight comes off effortlessly when eating raw foods as your body is given the opportunity to dispose of the stored toxins from all the bad-for-you foods you ate in the past. These toxins are stored in your body fat, and since your digestive system isn’t working overtime, your body is given a chance to detox and eliminate the fat.

Your body is able to digest raw foods easily and quickly. After only a few days of detoxing and letting go of the foods you were addicted to, the raw food diet provides all you need to feel satisfied and full. You no longer crave the foods you were once dependent on (such as sugars, pastas, and other refined carbohydrates), and you feel full after meals.

Typical short term diets for the sole purpose of weight loss leave you feeling hungry and deprived. The raw food diet allows for natural weight loss while still permitting cakes, cookies, pasta dishes, etc. The raw diet is the best of both worlds. You can eat whatever you want, whenever you want it. You look good, and you feel even better.

raw snack recipe

This raw snack recipe is similar to the other one I posted, but I use more dried fruit in this recipe to stick it all together instead of coconut oil. There is a bit more sugar in this snack bar, but they travel much better than the other ones that need to stay cool. Just like the other raw snack recipe, you can mix and match which nuts/seeds and fruits you use.

Nut and Fruit Squares To-Go
Makes 8-12 squares

1 cup of various raw nuts and/or seeds
1 1/3 cup various dried fruits

I used a combination of flax seeds, chia seeds, almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds with dates, figs, and dried apricots. I also added a scoop of raw cacao powder.

  • Process nuts/seeds in food processor until broken down but still crumbly.
  • Add dried fruit and process again.
  • (Optional) Add in any additional flavorings such as cacao powder, and pulse to combine.
  • Pour mixture into loaf pan lined with parchment paper. Press firmly into bottom with the back of a spoon.
  • Refrigerate 30 minutes to make it easier to cut.
  • Cut into squares or desired shape and transfer to an air-tight container.
